Art is often seen in galleries and museums worldwide. Rarely do we get a chance to see it in the hospitality industry like hotels. That’s why we were more than trilled to create this beautiful artwork for one of the Marriot hotel brands in El Segundo, California, The Fairfield Inn. The area near Los Angeles airport is a bustling area that attracts visitors worldwide. We had the amazing opportunity to really transform this wall into something new, creating new interest and excitement to all those that visit the hotel. During the process of painting this mural, we met so many people who took photos of this beautiful artpiece. We realized how beneficial it is to bring art to hotels.
Each topic deserves its own blog post. I will elaborate further in future posts but here are a few reasons why bringing art to your hotel is vital to its success! Here are a few reasons why it is important.
Aesthetics and Atmosphere:
Art brings life, color, and visual interest to hotel interiors. It adds an aesthetic appeal, creating an engaging and visually stimulating atmosphere. Also, artistic elements such as paintings, sculptures, murals, or installations can evoke emotions, set the mood. It can reflect the hotel’s unique character and style.
Sense of Place:
Art can be used to convey the local culture, heritage, and history of the destination. Hotels often showcase artwork that represents the region’s traditions, landscapes, or iconic landmarks. This allows guests to connect with the local community and creates a sense of place, making their stay more meaningful and authentic.
Conversation Starter:
Art has the ability to spark conversations and create dialogue among guests. It serves as a focal point, encouraging social interactions and providing a common ground for guests to share their perspectives and experiences. Hotels can even organize art tours or events to facilitate discussions and promote engagement among guests.
Supporting Artists and Branding
Supporting Artists and the Local Community: By displaying artworks in hotels, the hospitality industry provides a platform for emerging artists to showcase their talent. Hotels can collaborate with local artists, and galleries, promoting their work and contributing to the growth of the artistic community. Equally important, this symbiotic relationship benefits both the hotel and the artists. It fosters creativity and cultural development.
Differentiation and Branding: In a competitive hospitality industry, art can be a key differentiator for hotels. Unique and thoughtfully curated art collections can distinguish a property from its competitors. It can make it more memorable in the minds of guests. Hotels can align their art choices with their brand identity, reinforcing their values and creating a distinct identity.
Relaxation and Engagement
Relaxation and Well-being: Art has a profound impact on human psychology and well-being. It has been proven to reduce stress, enhance mood, and promote relaxation. In a hotel setting, where guests seek comfort and rejuvenation, art can contribute to a calming and peaceful environment. Nature-inspired art, abstract pieces, or soothing landscapes can create a serene atmosphere, helping guests unwind and recharge.
Engagement and Education: Hotels can utilize art as a tool for guest engagement and education. Art installations or exhibits can be accompanied by informative plaques. They can have interactive elements, providing insights into the artist’s inspiration, techniques, or historical context. This adds a layer of cultural enrichment to the guest experience, encouraging them to appreciate and learn more about art.
We hope you enjoyed these tips!

Explore this amazing luxury oceanfront Miami home, designed by DiMare Design, featuring exquisite artwork and a curated collection that seamlessly blends with the refined interior. Discover the distressed floral motifs adorning the polished concrete-like walls and the captivating abstract minimalism of our large painted canvas pieces.
Take the full MIAMI LUXURY HOME TOUR to experience the fusion of luxury interior design and our remarkable art collection in Miami. The entire home’s art collection was curated by DiMare Luxury Interiors.
The two artworks featured were some of our first abstract art commissions for Deborah’s home. We were so thrilled about really captivating the essence and beauty of abstract art in this Miami waterfront luxury home. The views of the ocean are awe inspiring and Deborah’s design choices were very elegant and refined.
This commission was one of our most special one because it challenged two aspects of our artistry.
The wall was prepped to appear like polished concrete, over it we created flowers that appeared to be distressed and aged on the wall.
Our second challenge was to create two large painted canvas pieces that were abstract yet minimal
For the mural on the distressed concrete wall, we created 5 samples using a variety of mediums in our Miami art studio. Deborah picked the one she felt would fit best with the interior design of the home. We returned with two large abstract artworks. The result was surreal and when we brought the artworks for install day, they blended well with the surroundings and harmonized the entire space.
My favorite part of the process was really pushing ourselves to create elegance in simplicity. Creating abstract artwork is a multi-layered process. The artist must fully immerse themselves in art and let the hands and imagination flow. The best part of abstract art is you can always see something new in the gentle brushstrokes.
“My mission is to show others by demonstration, that no living being, human & non, be sacrificed for beautiful & durable furniture & decor.”
Deborah, a distinguished interior design consultant, author, educator, and trailblazer of the ethical/wellness design movement. She has dedicated almost two decades to crafting exquisite living spaces and sensory environments. Her creations not only enhance the mental and physical well-being of individuals but also advocate for the preservation of animals and the planet, embodying her unwavering commitment to holistic design. Her design firm DiMare Design is unparallel to any other design firm in Miami. DiMare Design offers luxury design with a conscious approach.
Vegan Interiors was created by a group of extremely passionate people, so others could understand that no living creature, human and non, should ever have to suffer or get sick for beautiful decor and furniture. The images in this book are from spaces that are compassionate. None of the furniture, fabrics and decor are made with wool, leather, silk, down, feathers, fur or any other animal-based material.
Deborah’s thoughtful elegance can be seen and felt as you walk though her curated interior design. Her artistry shines through as you look through her careful art selection. Some artworks have a watercolor essences and really embrace Miami’s coastal waters. Other designs blend in well with the environment. We highly recommend this book!
Color Dreamers latest mural in Los Angeles Aloft Hotel
We just came back from our amazing journey to California State for Aloft Hotel in El Segundo near the LAX airport. This past week we had the pleasure of working on art for a unique brand of Marriott Hotels, Aloft. The Marriott based brand is reaching new heights by adding art to their hotels and spaces. Hotel art is vital to create real memorable experiences.
Art plays a vital role in enhancing the overall ambiance and guest experience in hotels. From luxurious resorts to boutique accommodations, art has the power to transform a hotel space into a captivating and memorable environment. Hotel art and murals is an excellent way to add vitality and visitor interaction.
For this art piece we were inspired by the El Segundo Blue butterfly. It is a species of butterfly endemic to Southern California, specifically the coastal dunes of the El Segundo and Manhattan Beach areas. The butterfly’s life cycle revolves around its host plant, the seacliff buckwheat. This butterfly mural really speaks to the beauty of the area. In this hotel mural we placed 3 distinct butterflies.
INSPIRATION : EL SEGUNDO BLUE BUTTERFLY
The female butterfly lays her eggs on the buckwheat plant, and the caterpillars feed exclusively on its leaves. The buckwheat itself is adapted to thrive in the sandy soil of the coastal dunes and plays a crucial role in the butterfly’s survival.
It is a small butterfly with a wingspan of about 2 centimeters. Conservation measures for the El Segundo butterfly include habitat restoration, protection of remaining dune habitats, and captive breeding programs. The butterfly’s limited range makes it particularly vulnerable to extinction, as any disruption or loss of its habitat can have a severe impact on its survival. Conservation organizations, local communities, and government agencies have collaborated to protect the butterfly and its habitat.
This butterfly mural is more than just another hotel artwork, its speaks volumes on the efforts of conservation and the beauty of our world. Hotel design and art is more that just painting something that people will like, its about creating a memorable moment for visitors that they can really connect to. This hotel art did just that and we were graced by one onlooker with a bottle of champagne upon completion of our butterfly mural because she felt that it resonated with her new company launch which actually has a blue butterfly logo. It was truly special gift of celebration.
The importance of Art in Hotels is clear. Differentiation and Branding: In a competitive hospitality industry, art and murals can be a key differentiator for hotels. Unique and thoughtfully curated art collections can distinguish a property from its competitors, making it more memorable in the minds of guests. In Miami World Center, Moinian developers have turned Bezel apartments into an interactive art installation. This world class art collection is to be admired and adored. In the world of luxury developments, art has become an increasingly important tool for innovation. Art can enhance the appeal of a building and increase the value of the property. It creates a sense of place and enjoyment. Collecting artworks among developers is becoming the most unique and distinctive way to connect residents to the art world. For this reason Bezel integrates architecture and art by creating a stunning building that is memorable from the moment you walk in.
THE COLOR DREAMERS STAIRCASE MURAL IS JUST ONE OF MANY PROLIFIC ARTWORKS AT BEZEL
Massive staircase mural painted by The Color Dreamers
Recently, Bezel luxury apartments unveiled a massive staircase mural created by The Color Dreamers artist duo. The work was created in collaboration with the award winning Hospitality Design group One Line Design. The abstract artwork can be seen towering over two floor levels. The massive mural drips down the wall to the lower level creating a puddle of paint down below. The painted art enhances the communal space and can be viewed from many angles giving a new perspective to the viewer.
The Color Dreamers recently described their artwork Halo Dance at Bezel as “The beauty of Halo Dance lies in its ability to evoke emotions, stimulate the mind, and challenge the way we perceive the world around us. The abstract artwork is encased in glass, steel and marble which is integrated into the architecture of Bezel.”
At its core, abstract art is an exploration of form, color, and line. It seeks to convey complex ideas and emotions through non-representational means, allowing the viewer to engage with the work on a deeply personal level. By distilling visual elements down to their purest form, abstract art creates a unique and dynamic language that transcends traditional boundaries. Additionally, another aspect of the beauty of abstract art is its ability to inspire introspection and self-reflection. Abstract art often provides a space for the viewer to contemplate their own thoughts and emotions, encouraging a deeper exploration of the inner self.
To make this staircase mural truly unique we created a few samples and renderings in order to decide on the final artwork to be painted. Here are just a couple of the 5 samples that were made to create the staircase mural.
Art at Miami World Center
Miami World Center is at the core of art and innovation. It is a massive mixed-use development project located in downtown Miami, Florida. Encompassing nearly 30 acres of land, the project represents one of the largest private real estate developments in the United States, and has been described as a “city within a city.” The Miami World Center project was first proposed in 2006, and after several years of planning and development, construction on the site began in 2016. The project is being developed by a consortium of private investors and real estate developers, and is expected to cost upwards of $4 billion dollars upon completion. Miami World Center is located just down the street from Perez Art Museum and Bayfront Park.
The most innovative city in America is now making waves as the epicenter of art and luxury
The Color Dreamers were the first artists to create artworks for the Miami World Center development. The first artwork created by the team for Bozzuto development Caoba is a stunning city-scape mural. The second set of murals were created for Parkline lobby and common areas. The Color Dreamers continues to exceed expectations as one of the most diverse artist collaborations. Their artworks have been featured in various museum exhibitions, publications and commercials. The duo consists of Amir Shakir and Ivette Cabrera who met over a decade ago in living in their art studios across from one another in Wynwood. They described the city in a recent publication.
“Miami is the epicenter for the future of art. We aren’t going anywhere, we love it here. We were part of the Wynwood Arts District development and we plan to continue the art to other areas and developments that appreciate artists and their efforts in molding the future of Miami.”
In conclusion, we look forward to Miami’s bright future. Inspired by the art and developments like Bezel that make Miami the most unique city in America. The Color Dreamers and Bezel showcase the beauty of living in Miami, surrounded by art, paradise and luxury living. Miami is expected to surpass Dubai as the most innovative city in America.

Miami’s architecture exudes a unique beauty that captivates the senses. From the sleek lines of its modern skyscrapers to the pastel hues of its Art Deco buildings, Miami’s architectural landscape is a visual feast. The city showcases a harmonious blend of styles, from the iconic geometric shapes and vibrant colors of the Art Deco District in South Beach to the contemporary designs that grace its ever-evolving skyline.
A wave of pool deck murals spreading across America’s luxury market.
Miami is a city renowned for its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and luxurious poolside parties. However, it doesn’t stop there. Miami is also globally recognized for its abundance of artistic murals. It boasts the highest concentration per square mile compared to any other city in the world. There is a big rise of new condominiums and skyscrapers. Now artists are seizing the opportunity to create even more impactful and awe-inspiring works.
Among the various neighborhoods in Miami, Wynwood Arts District stands out as a hub of large-scale art that has ignited a worldwide phenomenon. It is here that the match was struck, setting ablaze the mural art movement across the globe. Now, allow us to present our curated collection of the most intriguing and cutting-edge poolside murals from The Color Dreamers, showcasing the pinnacle of artistic expression in Miami.
BASQUIAT INSPIRED PENTHOUSE POOL DECK MURAL
The presence of art near water pools holds significant importance, creating a harmonious blend of aesthetics and ambiance. Art has the remarkable ability to enhance and transform spaces. When paired with water pools, it adds an extra dimension of visual appeal and sensory experience.
OCEANA BAL HARBOUR
Perched atop a private top-floor penthouse in Miami resides one of Miami’s most prestigious art collector, whose renowned collection is of such grandeur that a museum was established in Argentina to house a portion of it. Leaving the intrigue of the collector’s identity to the reader, we turn our attention to a striking Baquiat-inspired interpretation within this exceptional dwelling. Situated on the ocean side, this penthouse has a panoramic view of the southern, eastern, and western reaches of Miami’s Bal Harbour, offering a breathtaking vista. The artwork itself resonates powerfully, elevated above the world in the most opulent condominium Miami has to offer. What sets Oceana apart is its distinctive feature—each unit owner possesses a stake in the prestigious Oceana art collection, giving them an unparalleled ownership experience unrivaled by any other Miami condominium.
The idea is one of kind and impressive as an in house museum. The first floor of Oceana Bal Harbour will open to two grand lobbies with 22-foot vaulted ceilings enclosed by floor-to-ceiling glass. The lobby, masterfully designed by world-renowned Italian designer Pierro Lissoni, will house 10 museum-quality masterpieces of modern art from around the world.

GRAFFITI INSPIRED MIAMI POOL DECK MURALS
A great place for a custom piece of art is the pool deck at a Miami luxury apartments in the center of the city like Miami Midtown5. We had the pleasure of working on this pool deck mural for one of the amenities area. Residents can relax with world class art at their side.
MIDTOWN 5
The idea for this mural was to mix a younger generation with contemporary new art forms such as graffiti. This mural took many forms. We created a posterized art stencil with street style. The two artworks here play with the cool blue hues of the pool and the green reflective glass.
Tropical and busy, Midtown Miami is everything you love about Miami and more. Located on Biscayne Bay and featuring that distinctively pastel color palette Miami is so famous for, Midtown is more than palm trees and ocean views. This is Miami’s place to shop, home to the Shops and Midtown, a huge outdoor shopping district. It is directly south of the Miami Design District and Miami Wynwood Arts District.
Concepts and Inspiration
Midtown Miami contains two distinctive neighborhoods, Wynwood and Edgewater. Wynwood is famous for its shops, restaurants, and outdoor murals. Edgewater is far more residential, providing a variety of high-rise apartment buildings and luxury condos along Biscayne Bay. Miami Beach is directly east of Midtown Miami, roughly four miles away along I-195.
Afterall, there were many iterations of this mural before we arrived to the final artwork. It was a pleasant journey working with spray paint and stencils. The best part was that we got the opportunity to meet with the main developer for the building which was a very nice man with a big charming character. We were very grateful to be part of the team.
The Bozzuto team was very happy with the artwork!
Overall, art in public spaces enriches our lives, stimulates our senses, and enhances the quality of our urban environments. It fosters a sense of identity, encourages community engagement, and contributes to the overall well-being of people.

HOTEL POOL DECK MURALS IN DADELAND MIAMI
This hotel pool deck mural at Aloft hotel creates the perfect mood for guests visiting Miami. We absolutely loved the direction of this mural in its contemporary and modern tropical setting.
ALOFT HOTEL
A futuristic feeling of day meeting night, this artwork mixes abstraction with city views. Combining technology with geometry, we wanted this piece to feel soft and beautiful but also modern and fun. The surreal and high energy lifestyle of Miami is captured as the focal point of this exciting piece. We also love the way the pool water reflects the art mural.
In addition, art near water pools can elevate the overall atmosphere and create a captivating focal point. Whether it’s a large-scale mural, a sculpture, or an intricately designed mosaic, art draws the attention of pool-goers and provides a sense of intrigue and wonder. It serves as a conversation starter, sparking discussions and connections among people as they admire and appreciate the artistic elements within the pool environment.
Inspired by the galaxy and starlight

NORTH MIAMI PUBLIC ART CONCEPTS
NoMi VILLAGE
NoMi MURALscape initiative is a citywide mural activation. This initiative will reposition underused wall space and transform them into a tapestry of public art reflective of North Miami’s mosaic of historic film productions and music studios as well as the city’s longstanding support of the arts and creative expressions.
One of the things that makes our city beautiful is the easy access to beaches, the magnificent skyline, our diverse bird population, and the delicious mangos we are blessed with. In this artwork, blue jays soar towards the mango trees, seeking refuge and nourishment. Bees that pollinate the trees symbolize the abundance they bring to our city. As we gaze towards the Miami skyline in the distance, we see a brass portal to the azure blue skies that illuminate our city. The delicate balance of preserving our local wildlife is crucial to our ability to enjoy the water and beaches.

Wynwood, Miami – Florida is one of the most vibrant art covered neighborhoods in the world. In the early 2000’s artists began the slow but steady process of changing an abandoned industrial neighborhood into a Venus Flytrap for wall artist and building developers. Today the walls of Wynwood are heavy with layers of mural paint and memories covered over by new ones. Many of those walls have also been destroyed with new buildings replacing them. When a neighborhood becomes an outdoor museum it’s no surprise that things are going to change quickly for the locals and Wynwood is no exception. But if you’re looking for famous mural art, you won’t be disappointed.
The area went through a series of rapid transitions from industrial waste land to most coveted neighborhood in Miami. Back in the early 2000’s there was only a few derelict buildings over 1 story tall but today condo buildings with retails space on the first floor tower over like a city and many large buildings are under construction. To put it metaphorically, a lot of artists caught a few good waves and left Miami when they couldn’t take the harsh waters anymore. A neighborhood built and popularized by artists has become overwhelmed by new developments that don’t fully connect with what brought them to the area. And so, like the waves, the art disappears, changes and conforms to the new landscape.
Mural Art Ideas
Even after all these changes, Wynwood is still known as an art hub and remains one of the best places in the world to see tremendous artworks adorning the walls like an endless ocean. Notable artists continue to be attracted to the area to offer a piece of themselves to the world and inspire others. The competition is thicker than ever and the buildings are much bigger so scoring a commission is not for the faint of heart. If you are seeking mural art ideas, there is plenty of inspiration to absorb by visiting the area and a long history of works can be discovered online. Just remember that artwork is copywritten upon its creation and taking someone’s art instead of getting inspired might get you into legal trouble.
Adding Murals to a wall by a local artist really enhances its appeal!
Hiring local Miami wall artists is the key to a successful project. Companies like Muros pay for a lot for advertising and charge a lot more for their services while hiring local artists. The biggest benefit of hiring local artists is the ability to go straight to the source while still getting the best quality and prices. Hiring local is the key to a successful project.
Main Benefits of hiring local wall artists
Local artists have better prices
The biggest perk to hiring a local Miami artist is the ability to get a better deal. Out of town agencies have overhead costs that will add on to your budget while a local artist will bid a project out for just one service. As artists we want companies to benefit from the value of art in every way possible. Paying to much for art is not necessary. You can get the same quality of service, design, communication and invoices directly from a local artist. Freeing up budget space for other aspects of the project and even having the ability to do multiple murals. In our years of business, we have been able to give clients discounts and in turn they have been able to do more art projects with us. The cost difference will surprise you!
Local artists can conduct site visits more regularly
An out of town agency cannot fly in to town for every bid and estimate. They rely heavily on photos or a local representative to conduct site visits for them. In order to foresee any potential safety concerns or possible painting restrictions, local artists can conduct multiple site visits at little or no cost. The ability to check and recheck sites is an important aspect of ensuring a successful outcome. When it comes to starting the project, a local artist can be there at a moments notice. If a project gets delayed, a local artist has the flexibility to reschedule. Some clients may have requests that require working at odd hours, since we are close by to our projects we are better able to cater to those requests.
Local artists connect with the community
Community building is vital to new businesses in the area. A local artist generally has deep rooted ties to the community they live in. They can make the appropriate suggestions for relevant art. Additionally, they can filter corporate messages that will relate better with the residents of the area. It is important to create an atmosphere that enhances the connection to the community. The local community will support the efforts of any company that keeps their well being in mind. As artists we strive to bridge the connection between business and community. Art will always be a beautiful reflection of that local connection. For example, the company Thor Equities moved into the Wynwood neighborhood and brought local art talent to life. They curated a few murals on their building that were fun and playful! Not only did this art connect to the community but it also brought inclusion and diversity.
Local artists have more resources available to them
Local artists can bring in a variety of other artisans, coordinators, fabricators for a much larger project. The scope of work can range to provide a wider scale of trades dedicated to making a bigger impact. Local artists can also assist in making recommendations. They can connect a new business to other valuable companies. Artists can also coordinate events and local sponsors. Also, local artists are more aware of a variety of the services available in the area. Connections to more regional companies is valuable to any new businesses moving in to the neighborhood. Many of our projects entail bringing in various trades at the best prices. As artists, we strive to help our clients achieve their goals whatever they may be.
Local artists will promote your business
The biggest benefit to hiring a local wall artists is that they will big up your business! You can reach more people than intended because the artist you hired posted your project on their social media. How exciting it is to reach the local community in an organic way without paying a marketing team. Word of mouth is the most valuable source of advertising. Artists will post progress videos, live feeds and even full productions based on their projects. This adds more marketing to your business. Building relationships with local artisans will not only enhance your companies appeal, it will also provide long term brand recognition. So many times while working in Wynwood Arts District, we have had an entire tour bus audience while we paint. We always interact and promote our clients. Our works are collaborations we truly value.
In closing, the benefits of hiring local muralist can greatly impact project budget and quality. Make sure to do some research when planning a project, the ability to make local connections will make your business resonate better within the community.
