FORBES mentions Color Dreamers spectacular Plaster Bas Relief Mural at Toska Spa

Spectacular Tropical Bas Relief at Toska Spa

Born in Kosovo, trained in London, and based in Charlotte, Toska Husted has steadily built her brand since opening her first salon in North Carolina’s biggest city in 2016. Though she’s best known as an in-demand facialist for the world’s most photographed celebrities (think: Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Aniston) it’s her refreshingly gentle and personable demeanor that makes everyday people like me put our trust in her.

Demand for Toska’s highly personalized and results-driven touch has grown so much she decided to expand to other Southern cities. Dallas and Nashville are slated to open in 2025, while Miami recently opened to much fanfare with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Mayor of Coral Gables Vince Lago.

Beautiful tropical setting at Toska Spa in Coral Gables Miami

Located in posh Coral Gables, which Toska adores for its “ability to combine European charm with modern urban life,” the newest location bears some of Charlotte’s hallmarks. Both feature six chairs for Toska’s popular facial bar mini-treatments—perfect if you’re short on time or don’t have the budget to splurge on a full treatment—diamond pendant lights, and immaculate displays of luxe products from Biologique Recherche and Valmont, but Miami thoughtfully introduces design elements nodding to the city’s lush landscape. Among Toska’s favorite details is a stunning bas-relief wall depicting tropical flora by local artists The Color Dreamers.

Living portraits in Moss: Mural at Hazel and Azure turns heads!

Creating a women’s portrait mural made from natural moss in the lobby of a residential building is an inspired blend of art and nature. The art infuses the space with a deep sense of beauty, vitality, and symbolism. The choice of moss, with its soft textures and earthy hues, adds a living, breathing element to the mural. It creates a visual and sensory experience that captivates residents and visitors alike.

This collaboration between award winning Interior Design group One Line Design and The Color Dreamers is definitely one of a kind. The moss mural embraces the beauty of portraiture in a natural form.

The depiction of a woman in this moss mural carries a poetic resonance, celebrating feminine strength, grace, and the nurturing essence of nature. Moss, known for its resilience and ability to thrive in even the most challenging environments. By using organic material to create this portrait, The Color Dreamers is not only highlighting the aesthetic beauty of the female form but also the deeper connection between women and the natural world.

The mural would change with time, as the moss grows and evolves, reflecting the dynamic nature of life. This natural element lends a calming presence to the building’s lobby, encouraging a connection to the outdoors even in an urban setting. The living portrait can soften the modern, often harsh lines of architecture, bringing warmth and tranquility to the shared space.

Beyond its physical beauty, the moss mural invites reflection. Its natural hues and textures contrast the bustling energy of city life, offering a moment of pause, contemplation, and admiration for the subtle artistry of nature. In a residential building, this mural would not only be a stunning visual centerpiece but also a daily reminder of growth, renewal, and the deep-rooted power of femininity in harmony with the earth.

The benefits of using moss for artwork are:

Biophilic Design: Elevates the space with a nature-inspired, eco-conscious aesthetic that fosters well-being and connection to the natural world.

Sensory Experience: Engages both sight and touch, offering a tactile and immersive art installation that evolves and grows over time.

Calming Ambiance: Infuses your lobby with a sense of tranquility and serenity, transforming the atmosphere into a welcoming oasis.

Timeless Feminine Symbolism: Celebrates feminine strength and elegance, creating a space that resonates emotionally and visually with residents and guests.

Luxury Green Design: Enhances the aesthetic appeal of your property with a high-end, eco-luxe design feature that reflects a commitment to sustainability and modern sophistication.

Transforming Miami’s Architectural Landscape: The Power of Paintings, Murals, and Street Art

How Collaborative Art and Architecture Enrich Urban Spaces and Engage Communities

The Color Dreamers art team have been creating artworks for developers and building owners for over a decade. Our work can be seen in commercials, magazines and various online publications. Our work can be seen in a building lobby, exterior and courtyards. Here are a few reasons why so many developers continue to enhance their buildings appeal by adding public art.

Architectural design is not solely about constructing buildings; it’s about creating spaces that inspire, engage, and resonate with people. In Miami, a city renowned for its vibrant culture and artistic spirit, integrating paintings, murals, and street art into architectural buildings has become a transformative practice. This fusion of architecture and public art enriches urban landscapes, creating dynamic environments that reflect the city’s unique identity.

Street Art and Murals: Revitalizing Spaces

Street art and murals have long been integral to Miami’s artistic landscape, with neighborhoods like Wynwood serving as prime examples of this vibrant cultural phenomenon. These large-scale artworks transform plain walls into canvases that tell stories, evoke emotions, and engage the community. Architects collaborating with skilled painters and muralists can infuse new life into buildings, making them landmarks that attract both locals and tourists.

The Role of Painters and Architects

The synergy between painters and architects is crucial in the creation of mural art. Architects bring their vision for the building’s structure and functionality, while painters add layers of creativity that enhance the aesthetic appeal. This collaboration ensures that the artwork complements the architectural design, creating a harmonious blend that amplifies the building’s impact.

Public Art: A Catalyst for Community Engagement

Public art, including wall paintings and murals, plays a significant role in community engagement. It serves as a medium for expression, allowing artists to address social issues, celebrate cultural heritage, and foster a sense of belonging. In Miami, public art initiatives have transformed urban spaces into open-air galleries, encouraging community interaction and participation.

Miami: A Hub for Mural Art

Miami’s status as a hub for mural art is evident in its numerous public art projects and festivals. Events like Art Basel and the Wynwood Walls festival attract artists from around the world, turning the city into a living canvas. Also, these events not only beautify the city but also stimulate economic growth by drawing visitors and boosting local businesses.

Enhancing Architectural Buildings

To effectively enhance architectural buildings with paintings, murals, and street art, several key steps should be followed:

  1. Collaboration: Foster strong partnerships between architects, painters, and community stakeholders. This ensures that the artwork aligns with the building’s purpose and resonates with its audience.
  2. Integration: Seamlessly integrate art into the architectural design. Consider the building’s lines, shapes, and functions to create cohesive and impactful artwork.
  3. Community Involvement: Engage the community in the creative process. Public input can provide valuable insights and foster a sense of ownership and pride in the finished product.
  4. Maintenance: Implement a maintenance plan to preserve the integrity of the artwork. Regular upkeep ensures that the murals and street art remain vibrant and impactful over time.

In conclusion, the integration of paintings, murals, and street art into architectural buildings in Miami exemplifies the powerful synergy between art and architecture. This fusion not only enhances the visual appeal of buildings but also fosters community engagement, cultural expression, and economic growth. By embracing this artistic approach, architects and painters can create spaces that are not only functional but also profoundly inspiring.

Why adding Art to Hotels is important

Custom Painted Art Mural

Art in Designer Hotels

Hotel Art makes in big impact

Art is often seen in galleries and museums worldwide. Rarely do we get a chance to see it in the hospitality industry like hotels. That’s why we were more than trilled to create this beautiful artwork for one of the Marriot hotel brands in El Segundo, California, The Fairfield Inn. The area near Los Angeles airport is a bustling area that attracts visitors worldwide. We had the amazing opportunity to really transform this wall into something new, creating new interest and excitement to all those that visit the hotel. During the process of painting this mural, we met so many people who took photos of this beautiful artpiece. We realized how beneficial it is to bring art to hotels.

Each topic deserves its own blog post. I will elaborate further in future posts but here are a few reasons why bringing art to your hotel is vital to its success! Here are a few reasons why it is important.

Aesthetics and Atmosphere:

  • Art brings life, color, and visual interest to hotel interiors. It adds an aesthetic appeal, creating an engaging and visually stimulating atmosphere. Also, artistic elements such as paintings, sculptures, murals, or installations can evoke emotions, set the mood. It can reflect the hotel’s unique character and style.

Sense of Place:

  • Art can be used to convey the local culture, heritage, and history of the destination. Hotels often showcase artwork that represents the region’s traditions, landscapes, or iconic landmarks. This allows guests to connect with the local community and creates a sense of place, making their stay more meaningful and authentic.

Conversation Starter:

  • Art has the ability to spark conversations and create dialogue among guests. It serves as a focal point, encouraging social interactions and providing a common ground for guests to share their perspectives and experiences. Hotels can even organize art tours or events to facilitate discussions and promote engagement among guests.

Supporting Artists and Branding

  • Supporting Artists and the Local Community: By displaying artworks in hotels, the hospitality industry provides a platform for emerging artists to showcase their talent. Hotels can collaborate with local artists, and galleries, promoting their work and contributing to the growth of the artistic community. Equally important, this symbiotic relationship benefits both the hotel and the artists. It fosters creativity and cultural development.
  • Differentiation and Branding: In a competitive hospitality industry, art can be a key differentiator for hotels. Unique and thoughtfully curated art collections can distinguish a property from its competitors. It can make it more memorable in the minds of guests. Hotels can align their art choices with their brand identity, reinforcing their values and creating a distinct identity.

Relaxation and Engagement

  • Relaxation and Well-being: Art has a profound impact on human psychology and well-being. It has been proven to reduce stress, enhance mood, and promote relaxation. In a hotel setting, where guests seek comfort and rejuvenation, art can contribute to a calming and peaceful environment. Nature-inspired art, abstract pieces, or soothing landscapes can create a serene atmosphere, helping guests unwind and recharge.
  • Engagement and Education: Hotels can utilize art as a tool for guest engagement and education. Art installations or exhibits can be accompanied by informative plaques. They can have interactive elements, providing insights into the artist’s inspiration, techniques, or historical context. This adds a layer of cultural enrichment to the guest experience, encouraging them to appreciate and learn more about art.

We hope you enjoyed these tips!

Miami Mural Artist LEBO dies at 50

Local mural Miami artist dies

Many Miami natives have seen the mural artworks of artist LEBO. It was very sad to hear the news today that he has passed away. The prominent street artist was known for his early Miami murals in a cartoon style with vibrant colors. Lebo, was a very well respected and liked local artist who continually reached out to his community gifting artworks and advice on making art. As artists who know the difficulties of navigating the art world and creating art on dangerously high walls. We appreciate all the artists that put in the love and work that it takes to go big!

LEBO was a very special artist to Miami and he will defiantly be missed! We share some of his process here on this massive Miami Beach mural for which he created on a swing stage over the water. The dedication it takes to create these murals is not for the faint of heart. Those afraid of heights need not apply.

“A big reason I chose to highlight the Monk Parakeet for this project is its unique nature as a tropical species. Not only can their interesting squawking be heard throughout the area, but you can also see their family nests located in palm trees all around Miami Beach. Below the parakeet and night jasmine blossom is a stylized wave pattern inspired by the Art Deco movement, another trademark of Miami Beach. The lifeguard stand also captures another Miami Beach highlight with its delightful one of a kind feel, as it stands dotting the Atlantic”. – Lebo

About the artist Lebo

David Le Batard, better known in the art world as Lebo. He is recognized for working in a wide spectrum of creative mediums including murals, paintings and sculptures. Lebo is the innovator of Postmodern Cartoon Expressionism – a combination of cartoon imagery, richly saturated balances of color and unique linear composition brought together in a narrative style to inspire emotion and create layers of meaning. We leave you with some of our favorite artworks of his, including this massive cruise-ship mural he painted for Norwegian Cruise Line. We hope you enjoy. Please share his art worldwide as we mourn the loss of another fellow artist.

LEBO, really gave Miami a piece of his creativity and heart. Rest in Paradise.
