Botanical Murals at Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne, Miami

Botanical Murals at Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne, Miami

As part of The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne $100 million renovation in Miami, The Color Dreamers produced multiple botanical murals at the location. Artworks are featured at the outdoor bar and giant tiki beside the swimming pool and updated restaurants. The renovations and artworks are intended to align the property with evolving standards in the luxury hospitality sector. The murals embrace botanical themes while having a hint of Mediterranean flair.

The mural artworks features plant life inspired by the Florida landscapes and designs that harmonize with the updated Mediterranean interior design in the space. With gentle color pops and subtle realism the artworks add a gentle finishing touch to the spaces. These behind the scenes photos were taken right as the renovations were coming to a close but the hotel wasn’t quite open yet.

“With this transformative renovation, we are honoring the property’s legacy and doubling down on our 25-year commitment to the Key Biscayne community,” said Karim Alibhai, Founder and Principal of Gencom. “These enhancements will allow the property to remain competitive in the region’s increasingly sophisticated hospitality landscape, while further elevating Key Biscayne as a premier destination.”

The Ritz Carlton, Key Biscayne is a spectacular hotel and serves up amazing experiences everywhere you look. The ocean side destination has top notch cuisine from Paralia restaurant, stunning views of the ocean and fun for the entire family.

Why Botanical Murals Are So Special — And How They Transform Interior Spaces

Botanical murals are more than decorative elements; they are immersive experiences that bring life, movement, and emotional connection into a space. Rooted in nature yet expressed through art, these murals have the unique ability to transform interiors in ways that paint or wallpaper alone simply cannot.

1. They Bring the Outdoors In
In today’s fast-paced, urban environments, access to nature can feel limited. Botanical murals recreate that connection by introducing lush greenery, florals, and organic forms directly into interior spaces. This visual link to nature has been shown to create a calming atmosphere, making rooms feel fresh, open, and rejuvenating.

2. They Add Depth Without Adding Clutter
Unlike physical plants or décor that take up space, a mural creates dimension without crowding the room. Layered leaves, flowing vines, and expansive garden scenes can make walls feel as though they extend beyond their physical boundaries, adding perceived square footage and airiness.

3. They Create a Sense of Wellness and Tranquility
Nature-inspired imagery naturally encourages relaxation. Botanical designs soften hard architectural lines and introduce gentle movement, helping reduce stress and making spaces feel more welcoming—ideal for homes, offices, hospitality environments, and wellness settings.

4. They Tell a Story Through Design
Each botanical mural can be tailored to reflect a specific mood or identity. Whether it’s tropical abundance, delicate wildflowers, or dramatic oversized foliage, the mural becomes a narrative element that expresses personality and intention rather than just filling a wall.

5. They Are Timeless Yet Contemporary
Botanical themes have existed in art for centuries, yet modern interpretations feel fresh and current. This balance allows murals to remain relevant far longer than trend-based décor, making them an investment in lasting beauty.

6. They Enhance Light and Flow
Strategically designed botanical compositions can guide the eye throughout a room, complementing natural light and architectural features. Soft color transitions and organic shapes help spaces feel cohesive and harmonious.

7. They Transform Walls Into Living Art
A botanical mural turns a flat surface into an experience—one that evolves throughout the day as light changes and viewers notice new details. It becomes a focal point that invites pause, reflection, and connection.

In Essence
Botanical murals do more than decorate; they restore balance between built environments and the natural world. By blending artistry with biophilic design, they create interiors that feel alive, restorative, and deeply human.

NORTH MIAMI PUBLIC ART CONCEPTS

NoMi VILLAGE

NoMi MURALscape initiative is a citywide mural activation. This initiative will reposition underused wall space and transform them into a tapestry of public art reflective of North Miami’s mosaic of historic film productions and music studios as well as the city’s longstanding support of the arts and creative expressions.

One of the things that makes our city beautiful is the easy access to beaches, the magnificent skyline, our diverse bird population, and the delicious mangos we are blessed with. In this artwork, blue jays soar towards the mango trees, seeking refuge and nourishment. Bees that pollinate the trees symbolize the abundance they bring to our city. As we gaze towards the Miami skyline in the distance, we see a brass portal to the azure blue skies that illuminate our city. The delicate balance of preserving our local wildlife is crucial to our ability to enjoy the water and beaches.
